Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is releasing a new feature-length animated Mortal Kombat film. For the sequel to Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge, Warner Bros. Animation will once again collaborate with NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms starts up right after Scorpion’s Revenge finishes. The heroes are besieged by Shao Kahn’s wicked troops. Raiden and his warriors are forced to fight in a last Mortal Kombat match to decide the Realms’ destiny. As they must protect Earthrealm, the battle leads them to Outworld this time. Scorpion must also locate the ancient Kamidogu before it can be utilized to revive the One Being, which would result in the annihilation of the cosmos as a whole.
As Hollywood star-turned-fighter Johnny Cage and all-business warrior Sonya Blade, Joel McHale (Community, Stargirl) and Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter, Batman: Gotham by Gaslight) reprise their main roles. On August 31, 2024, Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms will be released on digital, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack. Pre-orders for the Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Combo will begin on June 28, while pre-orders for the Digital edition will begin on July 8. Next week, a trailer will be released.
